Korean sushi Kimbap (김밥)


Hello everyone, I made Korean Sushi Kimbap (김밥) today. In Kimbap, we don't add raw fish. Instead there are sausage,crab meat , cucumbers, vinegar radish (단무지) , egg , and carrots. Koreans eat Kimbap on party , birthday , and picnic. Instead of sandwich its kind of tradition to pack kimbap and sprite. When I was in 1st grade, every-time when I go field-trip, my mom always packed me kimbap and sprite. And yes all other kids brought kimbap and sprite. I don't know how it begin, but its kind of must pack thing for pack kimbap and sprite on field-trip and picnic. ( enough of short stories ) Lets begin with ingredients. If you cant find crabmeat you don't have to put it in. But most of Asian store may have crabmeat stick.

first clean the cucumber in running water. 
Then cut them in to 1 inch slices








slice the carrot in to thin slices 












 slice the fishcake into 1 inch slices










 slice the Korean radish pickle into 1 inch slices







I am using spam, but you can use sausage or ham 
( slice them into 1 inch slices )


 before you slice the crabmeat, make sure you peel the wrapping off


slice the crabmeat in half











pan cook all the ingredients 






I used 4 eggs. When you are fully done with egg
slice them into 1 inch pieces

and you are done! 


please follow the picture steps and you will have delicious kimbap. 
if the tip of kimbap does not close add little bit of water on the edge of the seaweed.

TIP : Put sesame oil all over the kimbap and then slice them

Korean rice vegetable mix Bibimbap (비빔밥)


Hello everyone!! today I made Bibimbap (비빔밥). Bibimbap is really health and great vegetarian dish. Bibimbap is basically bowl of rice and vegetables in one big bowl with red pepper paste sauce. In this recipe I added ground beef and fried egg to my bibimbap but if you are a vegetarian leave out the ground beef and fried egg. Bibimbap is Korean traditional dish. You can customize your bibimbap whatever you want your bibimap to be. You can add kimchi, if you like. Instead of carrot, you can add cucumers. Sometimes I add caviar if I have it on my fridge. If you add raw fish to this dish,then thats Hwe dup bap (회덮밥). Now lets start with the ingredients. !! LETS BEGIN MAKING BIBIMBAP ♡

I used 1lb of ground beef (leave it out if your vegetarian)

soy-sauce,sesame oil and minced garlic

1 lb of ground beef
1 tbs of sesame oil
pinch of salt and black pepper
1 tbs minced garlic 


put some oil on the pan 


and cook them until it turn brown



if yours looks like this.. you are done with meat

now in the boiling water lets cook bean sprout

you rinse them in running water at least 2 times before cooking

in high heat let it cook for 2-3 minutes
you want to cook them well done b/c if you don't cook it all the way 
the bean sprout can give you bitter taste on your bibimbap 


when your bean sprouts are done cooking, put them in the cold water for shock
then drain them and add 
1 tbs of sesame oil
1 tbs of salt

cook the spinach in same way as the bean sprout




1 tbs of sesame oil 
1 tbs of salt

slice the carrot in to thin slice
(I used 1 med.size carrot)


drizzle some olive oil on the heated pan and cook them for 2 minutes on high heat
( do not over cook )

slice the zucchini in to small pieces 
( I used 1 med. size )


pinch of salt 
1 tbs of minced garlic 

and then cook them for 2 minutes

rinse the mushroom in running water and drain them until there no water 
( or squeeze it with your hand if you have to ) 



then add 
1 tbs of sesame oil
1 tbs of salt 
1 tbs of minced garlic 

and cook them until they look like this for 2 minutes

How to make Bibimbap Sauce 

I used this ingredients to make my bibimbap sauce but,you can just use red pepper paste and little bit of sesame oil if you can't or don't have time. But I recommend this sauce for better taste. You can add more sugar if you don't like the spice sauce.













mix all the ingredients together and enjoy your bibimbap! 
I love bibimbap. It sure takes a long time to prepare but it worth it when you take a bit. 
TIP : after adding sauce in your bibimbap, drizzle little bit of sesame oil.
